California Republican Party Endorses Waldron for Assembly

(Escondido, CA) – The California Republican Party recently endorsed Marie Waldron in her bid for State Assembly. Waldron is running in the newly created 75th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Escondido and San Marcos, along with Valley Center, Fallbrook and other unincorporated portions of north San Diego County. A quarter of the district’s residents reside in Temecula and unincorporated portions of southwest Riverside County.

Earlier this month Waldron received the endorsements of the Republican Party of Riverside County and the Republican Party of San Diego County which lead the way for the state party’s endorsement. Waldron is the only Republican who filed in the 75th district. With a Republican registration advantage of over 22 points, the district is considered one of the safest Republican seats in California. There is one other candidate in the race, a Democrat.

“It is an honor to receive the endorsement of the California Republican Party, said Waldron. “My platform of fighting against higher taxes and for reforming state government wont just benefit San Diego and Riverside county residents – it will benefit every California family and job creator.”

Waldron has previously announced the support of several organizations and elected officials including the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC, the North San Diego County Association of Realtors, the Lincoln Club of San Diego County, and the Temecula Valley Republican Women Federated. Current 75th District legislators Senator Joel Anderson, Senator Mark Wyland, Assemblyman Martin Garrick and Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries, former State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth; and the majority of the district’s mayors have all endorsed her campaign.

Waldron is a small business owner and has served on the Escondido City Council since 1998. She has been a staunch advocate for fiscal restraint and accountability while on the Escondido City Council and has opposed all water rate and tax increases.

(Escondido, CA) – Last week, the Temecula Valley Republican Women Federated (TVRWF) endorsed Marie Waldron for Assembly. Waldron is running in the newly created 75th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Escondido and San Marcos; along with Valley Center, Fallbrook and other unincorporated portions of north San Diego County. A quarter of the district’s residents reside in Temecula and unincorporated portions of southwest Riverside County.

TVRWF is the largest Republican Women Federated club in the 75th district and with over 150 members, they are a significant boost to Waldron’s grassroots campaign team.

“We are proud to support Marie for State Assembly,” said Valarie Skovron, TVRWF’s president. Her breadth of experience as a small business owner, mother, and local elected official will bring a prospective desperately needed in Sacramento. Marie’s experience gives her first hand knowledgehow legislation impacts businesses, families, our local governments and economy – we know she’ll do an amazing job fighting for us in the state legislature.”

The support of one of the district’s strongest grassroots organization is the latest in important backers of Waldron’s campaign for Assembly. Two weeks ago, Waldron announced the endorsement of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC. She has also previously announced the backing of pro-business groups like the North San Diego County Association of Realtors and the Lincoln Club of San Diego County.

Waldron has received the support of prominent current 75th district legislators: Senator Joel Anderson, Senator Mark Wyland, Assemblyman Martin Garrick and Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries; and the majority of the district’s mayors. Former State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth also supports Marie’s campaign.

(Escondido, CA) – Marie Waldron announced that the North San Diego County Association of REALTORS® (NSDCAR) has endorsed her candidacy for State Assembly.

“Marie understands that getting our economy back on track means decreasing the burden of state government on California’s entrepreneurs, small businesses, and hard-working families,” said Chuck Smiar, Local Government Relations Chairman. “Like many California small businesspeople, our members continue to be burdened by excessive regulations, unwarranted fee increases and a over-bearing bureaucracy – we appreciate Marie’s commitment to fight for us in Sacramento.”

NSDCAR is the largest trade association in North County, representing approximately 6,000 real estate industry professionals. They are a full service professional trade association offering service centers in five locations along with a broad array of education, advocacy, professional development and industry communication to their members.

NSDCAR’s backing of Waldron is the second major business group to endorse Waldron’s candidacy – the Lincoln Club of San Diego County tossed their support behind Marie in late 2011. Waldron has also received the support of prominent current 75th district legislators: Senator Joel Anderson, Senator Mark Wyland, Assemblyman Martin Garrick and Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries; and the majority of the district’s mayors.

Waldron is a small business owner and has served on the Escondido City Council since 1998. She has been a staunch advocate for fiscal restraint and accountability while on the Escondido City Council and has opposed all water rate and tax increases. To learn more about Waldron or her

As a parent and city councilmember, the safety of our children is most important! We must protect the life and innocence of our youngsters. These predators should not be living among us. They should face the death penalty or life terms without parole. Enough is enough. Sadly, why has it taken the tragedy of the loss of two more beautiful girls, Amber Dubois and Chelsea King to bring this issue into the forefront? Clearly, history shows that politics and liberalism has allowed the rights of the victims, our precious children to take second place to the perceived rights of sex offenders and criminals.

This fight is not new. In 1998, I worked with our police chief to prepare for the Amber Alert program running in our region even before it went state-wide. Back in 2002, State Legislators, like Senator Dennis Hollingsworth and then-Assemblyman Jay LaSuer authored numerous bills (about 80) which were supported by then-Assemblymembers Mark Wyland, George Plescia and Shirley Horton, to toughen restrictions on sex offenders. One by one these bills died in committees on a strict party-line vote. Why are we still fighting today? Because of liberal judges and Democrats in Sacramento who are blinded by some deranged logic that sex offenders have more rights than our kids.

I drafted a Resolution to support the online Megans Law sex offender registry in California. At the time, we were the only state in the nation without this registry and the ACLU was fighting us. Because of this, the Escondido City Council opened a dedicated computer station at police headquarters where citizens could sign up and view the locations of sex offenders in our town. Thankfully, Megans Law database has finally gone online at: www.meganslaw.ca.gov .

Next came Jessica’s Law which worked to strengthen and expand upon Megan’s Law. We must know the true criminal history of predators, require stricter penalties and a one-strike life term! Once again, this legislation, as part of Project Kidsafe died in committee on a strict party-line vote. So we took to the streets. I worked with our legislative team and countless citizens and community leaders to collect thousands of signatures (boxes and boxes of them) during drive by signing events and street fair booths to put Jessica’s Law on the ballot. And we won! But once again the liberalism in our court system has tied up much of the applications and we have not seen the full effect of this legislation.

Yes, we need a “one strike and you are out” penalty for sex offenders who molest and attack our children. Eliminate sentence reductions for “good behavior”, and instead institute the death penalty for sexually violent criminals and a guaranteed life sentence. The citizens voted for this and we want it implemented.

As parents, our everyday lives are already altered by the deviants who seem to be everywhere assimilated into our society. We cannot let our children out of our sight. If we can’t do it for our kids, what else is worth fighting for?

As a parent and city councilmember, the safety of our children is most important! We must protect the life and innocence of our youngsters. These predators should not be living among us. They should face the death penalty or life terms without parole. Enough is enough. Sadly, why has it taken the tragedy of the loss of two more beautiful girls, Amber Dubois and Chelsea King to bring this issue into the forefront? Clearly, history shows that politics and liberalism has allowed the rights of the victims, our precious children to take second place to the perceived rights of sex offenders and criminals.
